Medal of Honor Recipients Honored with Motorcade from DFW to Gainesville
A special motorcade will escort Medal of Honor recipients from DFW Airport to Gainesville, Texas, honoring their bravery and service.
In a display of reverence and gratitude, a motorcade will escort Congressional Medal of Honor recipients from DFW Airport to Gainesville, Texas, on Thursday afternoon. The annual event, now in its 23rd year, celebrates the bravery and service of these distinguished service members who have received the United States‘ highest military award for valor.
The motorcade, consisting of over 550 vehicles and spanning 8 to 9 miles, will showcase public safety vehicles from the surrounding area. Authorities will temporarily close sections of Highways 183, 360, 114, 121, as well as access points along I-35W and I-35E, to facilitate the procession. Motorists should anticipate traffic delays during the event.
Gainesville, Texas, has been the host city for the Medal of Honor recipients for the past 23 years. This year, five Medal of Honor recipients will be honored, joining the approximately 3,500 service members who have ever received the prestigious award.
