Dozens of Make-A-Wish Families Embark on Dream Trip from DFW to Disney

Discover how American Airlines, Make-A-Wish, and Disney teamed up to fulfill the dreams of over two dozen families battling critical illnesses, as they embark on a magical trip from Dallas-Fort Worth to Disney World.

On a bright Wednesday morning, a heartwarming scene unfolded at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport as a flight departed, carrying the hopes and dreams of more than two dozen families bound for Orlando to experience the magic of Disney, courtesy of the Make-A-Wish program.

In a collaborative effort, American Airlines, Make-A-Wish, and Disney joined forces to make this unforgettable journey possible for children battling critical illnesses and their families. Faces lit up with joy as the families, filled with anticipation and excitement, embarked on this once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

The atmosphere was festive at DFW as families gathered for the flight, enjoying activities like face painting, snacks, and music. For parents like Porsha Jones, whose child was a recipient of Make-A-Wish, the trip represents not just a dream come true for their children, but also a moment of respite and joy for the entire family. “They granted my wish too, a little bit,” Jones expressed, reflecting the shared joy among the families.

Kim Elnez, the CEO of Make-A-Wish North Texas, observed the palpable excitement among both children and parents, underscoring the significance of these experiences in bringing moments of happiness amidst challenging times.

As April marks World Wish Month, Make-A-Wish chapters worldwide are rallying support to grant more wishes and create magical moments for children facing critical illnesses. Additionally, they aim to recruit 1 million WishMakers by the end of April, inviting individuals to join the cause and make a difference in the lives of these courageous children and their families.
