2 Men Arrested in Kohl’s Smash-and-Grab Robbery in North Richland Hills

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas — Two men were arrested Monday after a swift police response to a smash-and-grab robbery at a Kohl’s store in North Richland Hills.

Just before 1:30 p.m., North Richland Hills Police received a report of a man inside Kohl’s breaking jewelry display cases with a crowbar. Responding officers quickly located the suspect vehicle and initiated a stop.

According to police, the passenger attempted to flee on foot, triggering a brief foot chase. Officers apprehended the suspect near Walker and Grand Avenue, less than eight minutes after the initial 911 call.

The suspects — a 45-year-old man from Lancaster and a 36-year-old man from Dallas — were both taken into custody. They are being held at the North Richland Hills Joint Detention Facility.

Authorities have not yet released their names or specific charges, but they confirmed the arrests were directly linked to the robbery at Kohl’s.

The rapid response underscores the department’s readiness in handling in-progress crimes. Police credit the swift dispatch and teamwork in capturing the suspects before they could escape the area.

As investigations continue, more information about the charges and stolen property recovery is expected to be released.

This incident follows a growing trend of retail smash-and-grab robberies across the region, prompting increased security measures in many stores.
