A 16-year-old faces charges after a fatal shooting in Dallas, leaving one teen dead and another injured.

Dallas authorities have charged a 16-year-old boy in connection with a tragic shooting incident that resulted in the death of a teenage boy and left another adolescent injured.

The Dallas Police Department responded to a distressing call at approximately 4:40 a.m. on Friday, December 29, reporting a shooting in the 3100 block of Harry Hines Boulevard.

Upon arrival, officers found two 14-year-old boys with gunshot wounds. Both victims were swiftly transported to a local hospital for urgent medical care. Regrettably, one of the teenagers succumbed to his injuries, while the other victim is anticipated to recover.

Initially facing two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, the 16-year-old now confronts an upgraded charge to manslaughter following the tragic death of one victim.

Due to their underage status, the identities of the teens involved in this devastating shooting will not be disclosed to the public.

The incident underscores the gravity of gun violence and its impact on young lives, prompting legal actions against the accused while the community grieves the loss of a young individual and supports the recovery of the injured.
