Telugu young star Bellamkonda Sreenivas talked about his film Chatrapathi and revealed why it didn’t receive the expected response.
Bellamkonda Srinivas is a popular name in Telugu films. The young actor marked his Bollywood debut with Chatrapathi, but the movie didn’t go well at the box office.
The actor talked about the film’s debacle and said that releasing it the week after the eagerly awaited The Kerala Story was released was the main reason for its failure.
He added, “When his film was released on May 12, The Kerala Story was already winning hearts. All the focus was on that film. Things would have been totally different if his film had not released close to The Kerala Story. Not just that, the situation would have been different if it was released before the Coronavirus pandemic.” The film also starred Nussrat Bharucha in the lead. Chatrapathi, the official remake of the 2005 hit Telugu movie of the same name, was directed by SS Rajamouli and featured Prabhas.
The entertainer uncovers that he had signed the film before the pandemic struck, and the shoot got pushed due to the Coronavirus emergency. “And now, times have changed. The content which people want is very different; audiences have evolved. They want projects high on content. It reminds us that we have to pull up our socks and put in more effort,” says Srinivas, who made his acting debut in the 2014 action comedy Alludu Seenu with Samantha…
The actor shared that he is happy that audiences praised his performance and is looking forward to receiving more Bollywood projects in the future.
