Texas organizations in the travel business can now apply for financing to recuperate from the COVID pandemic.
Gov. Greg Abbott and the Governor's Office of Economic Development and Tourism reported the launch of uses for the Texas Travel Industry Recovery Grant Program (TIIR).The program will circulate $180 million of assets from the Coronavirus State Fiscal Recovery Fund.
A one-time installment of up to $20,000 can go to qualified organizations in the accompanying classes: Arts, Entertainment, and Recreation, Accommodation and Meetings, and Food Services and Drinking Places.
The awards are intended to assist with further developing security, client care, and hospitality. = for organizations that were adversely affected by the pandemic.
Applications are open until July 31 for organizations with the accompanying NAICS codes:
312120 - Breweries
312130 - Wineries
312140 - Distilleries
5615 - Travel Arrangement and Reservation Services
561920 - Convention and Trade Show Organizers
7212 - RV (Recreational Vehicle) Parks and Recreational Camps
Under Arts, Entertainment, and Recreation (NAICS code 71), organizations can apply from August 1 - August 21. Organizations in Travel Accommodation (7211) can use August 22 - September 11, then Food Services and Drinking (722) on September 12 - October 2.
Any extra support will be granted to unfunded applications.

Organizations with questions can go to an online class to find solutions from the Economic Development and Tourism Office. Enrollments for the online course are open now for organizations that must apply directly and on August 21.
