Tamil action thriller 'Maanagaram' written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, hit the screen in 2017, and now the makers are planning to remake this blockbuster film in Hindi. Santosh Sivan will direct the movie, and Vikrant Massey will play the lead role.
Sanjay Mishra has been roped in to play a vital role. The shoot is expected to begin January 10 onward in Mumbai for about a 50-day without any gap.
The film producer Shibu Thameens confirmed the news to the media and said, "Yes, you have got it right. It's January 10 in Mumbai, a city that I love. And the entire film will be shot at night. Almost the entire Mumbai will be covered. The characters in the Hindi version will be far more detailed than in the Tamil one."
Shibu added, "The Hindi remake is not going to look like the Tamil original. It will be a visual treat."
He talked about Massey and said, "Vikrant will see as a young, angry man. He is a fantastic actor, and we are looking forward to working with him."
The female lead has not been roped in.
According to sources, "The film's team has zeroed down on two to three
names. A final decision will be taken soon."
'Maanagaram' will have Sri, Sundeep Kishan, and Regina Cassandra in the lead.
