According to the latest reports from the Fort Worth firefighters, they are praying for the speedy recovery of two children and their father who was rescued from a fire operation.

The fire broke out Monday afternoon on South Jennings Avenue near Hemphill Street.

Further reports from the fire department stated that they were present on the scene just three minutes after being dispatched. Firefighters began controlling the fire and rescued the children: a 4-year-old and 13-month-old boy. They're said to be in critical condition.

Mike Drivdahl with Fort Worth PD said, "We all have a family. We all are feeling the effects of this." "I don’t know if I've been on scene on any one of our events where there has been more concern for the update of children than this one. So this one hit close to home for a lot of our firefighters."

Firefighters give credit to the new search and rescue technology that helped them to give the children a chance to fight for their lives.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
