Denton County has managed to administer 10,000 doses per day and has come closer to the comparatively short wait times.

The goal at Texas Motor Speedway may seem superfluous as they plan to vaccinate 30,000 people in just three days.

So far, they have given 18,000 shots and are positive that they will meet the goal by the end of Friday.

Thursday was the second day at TMS for Denton County Public Health’s vaccination site. With short wait lines, everyone was in and out for the complete vaccination process within 30 minutes.

Denton County vaccinated more than 9,000 people on Tuesday.

Public Health Director Matt Richardson said that 1,000 short of reaching their goal of 10,000 doses in a day was due to some last-minute cancelations.

He said, "It’s a good problem to have because that’s telling us that people are getting vaccine elsewhere. So, we’re able to move through our waitlist."

Denton County sent out 12,000 invitations for Thursday.

Some 2,000 to 3,000 cancelations made, Richardson will try to adjust the number before Friday.

Richardson said, "We will overbook tomorrow making sure that we do not run out of vaccine," Richardson said. "But we will try to compensate for cancellations and no shows."
