“The Lunchbox” casting director and producer Seher Aly Latif left a void in the family and the film fraternity on Monday. According to reports from sources, She died of a non-COVID-related infection at the tender age of 39.
Latif was known for handling international projects set in India. She served as casting director to films like “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” and its sequel “Million Dollar Arm,” as well as recent Bollywood film “Shakuntala Devi” and “Durgamati: The Myth.”
Bollywood celebrities took to social media and expressed their condolence.
The Lunch Box director Ritesh Batra wrote, “I don’t believe it, unfair parting with a kind soul and real friend. Goodbye, Seher; I hope there is another side.”
Other Bollywood celebs, including Rajkummar Rao, Angad Bedi, MaanviGagroo, Harshvardhan Kapoor, Rohit Saraf, and many more, paid their tribute to the casting director.
