Fort Worth-based Texas Christian University is trying to contain COVID-19 outbreak on its campus days after the new school year started.

According to reports from the TCU, 447 active cases on campus were reported on Friday as compared to 112 cases last week. These numbers of cases include almost all students, half of them living on campus, and a half living off.

The university warned two sororities on campus to self-quarantine to contain the spread of the virus.

TCU is using a dormitory to isolate students infected by the virus.

The chancellor shared a video on YouTube, reminding students to take necessary precautions while staying on campus. He asked students to maintain social distancing, wear masks, and often wash hands.
