Opal Lee, the grandmother of Juneteenth, added one more title to her fantastic resume.

The pioneer from Fort Worth got a privileged doctorate certificate from her institute of matriculation: The University of North Texas.

Lee was among the 6,700 alums who strolled the stage throughout the end of the week.

The 96-year-old civil rights activist earned her Master of Education from UNT in 1963.

Lee battled to make Juneteenth a government holiday to honor the day enslaved people in Texas learned they'd been liberated.
