Sooryavanshi is a box office smash for Akshay Kumar. While the numbers are still coming in, we have learned exclusively that Reliance Entertainment and Rohit Shetty have struck a multi-billion dollar deal with Netflix for the digital debut.

Sooryavanshi, which is finally out after 19 months, is nothing short of a celebration of mainstream Hindi cinema, bringing back whistles and applause to a theatre for the first time in a long time. Sooryavanshi gets propelled by filmmaker Rohit Shetty's signature action, which Akshay Kumar delivers in spades.

"Sooryavanshi will be available on Netflix a month after its theatrical release, rather than the usual eight weeks. Netflix has given Rohit Shetty and Reliance Entertainment a premium for defying the odds in these uncertain times. The previous arrangement was worth around Rs. Seventy-five crores. Sooryavanshi's team has gotten Rs. A hundred crores from Netflix for its December 4 launch "we obtained information from a trade source.

Sooryavanshi would be one of the first major films to have a direct-to-digital distribution within four weeks of its theatrical release. However, the producers expected a premium and Netflix's crew to meet their needs. The same investors had offered over Rs. One Hundred Fifty crores for a direct-to-digital launch, but Shetty and co. were adamant about hanging out for an exclusive theatrical release.

Sooryavanshi, starring Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Ajay Devgn, and Ranveer Singh, is now in theatres.
