Denton
County's Krum ISD is closing its middle and high school from Monday due to the
increasing number of COVID-19 cases.
According
to the school district's statement, eight people, including students and staff
members, have tested positive for the virus – three at the high school, four at
the middle school, and one at Dyer Elementary.
Further
reports from the sources stated that the two latest cases prompted the district
to switch to remote learning to protect students and staff from the virus.
This
switch will give the district sufficient time to trace the injection route and
clean each school "thoroughly."
No
extracurricular activities will be taken while the schools are closed.
The
first school day of Krum ISD was Aug. 19.
