Karan Johar recently announced a foundation in the loving memory of his father, Yash Johar. The foundation will focus on improving the quality of those working in the entertainment industry. It will ensure financial wellbeing, health and educations, and vocational training.
The filmmaker took to his social media handle and wrote, “This has been a true labor of love… created in memory of my incredible father and to carry forward his legacy. I am proud to launch the Yash Johar Foundation, which has been set up to improve the quality of life for people in the Indian entertainment industry. While we have initiated the implementation of long-term sustainable plans that will enhance the lives of people and their families in the industry, we have also ensured that immediate solutions are being provided to help them deal with the effects of the ongoing global pandemic.”
Meanwhile, On the work front, Karan Johar’s last directorial ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil,’ released in 2016, starring Anushka Sharma, Ranbir Kapoor, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead. The filmmaker’s much-anticipated project ‘Takht’ is expected to go on floors soon. This period drama stars an ensemble cast including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Anil Kapoor, and Janhvi Kapoor.
