Finally, the wait is over! Amazon Prime Day is scheduled for October 13.
Amazon has not officially confirmed this news, but a spokesperson gave the following statement in front of the media, "Stay tuned for more details on Prime Day. Customers can also say, 'Alexa, keep me posted on Prime Day.' If a customer makes this Alexa request, they will be notified when we announce the dates and when Prime Day begins."
To those unknown, Amazon Prime Day is the shopping day packed with deals that normally start from July but was delayed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. This will be the biggest sales day of the year for this company, surpassing Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined.
According to reports from sources, the e-commerce giant earned over $7 billion over a roughly 48 hour period last year.
This company makes use of this event to attract new customers. "Amazon welcomed more new Prime members on July 15 than any previous day, and almost as many on July 16 — making these the two biggest days ever for member signups".
Amazon shares have increased by 66% so far this year.
