The continuous pandemic and twisters have deferred the film that was intended to praise the centennial festivals of Bangladesh's first President, Sheik Mujibur Rahman.

Veteran Filmmaker Shyam Benegal will finish Mujibur Rahman's biopic by the second last quarter of this year. 'Bangabandhu' is an Indo-Bangladeshi language historical film that was scheduled for discharge on the 100th birth commemoration of Mujibur Rehman. However, it has been marginally postponed because of Covid-19 lockdowns and climate abnormalities.

About the film, Shyam Benegal said, "We had two twisters and Covid in the middle; however, I addressed both the Indian and Bangladesh governments, and they have gotten some information about every last bit of it so that we will make the film at any rate. Had these issues not sprung up, I would've completed the film one and a half years back. In any case, regardless, around 80% of the film is finished."

The majority of the Dhaka parts of the film have been shot in Film City. Benegal said, "The flights were halting in the middle, and there was a danger of lockdown, yet we were adequately fortunate to shoot the greater part of the sections in Film City."

Benegal is presently hanging tight for the central portion of the storm to get over before the shoot can continue. He adds, "Presently, there is a lockdown in Bangladesh, and the greater part of my entertainers are from Dhaka. Things are working in a particularly peculiar manner each time I intend to shoot, something manifests, and I need to drop it. It has been similar to that from the start, all things considered".
