
Today, Facebook Inc announced that it plans to come up with a news service in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, India, and Brazil in the months to come, after introducing this feature in the United States last year.
The
leading social media giant launched news service last year and currently pays
US publishers for its content and gets its unique reporting from more than 200
outlets, including local news channels.
Facebook
has 2.7 billion monthly active users, It has come under trouble due to fake
news reports and forged campaigns, which has affected the outcome of the 2016
presidential election, which was won by Donald Trump.
Chief
Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg said that the company would give priority to
"trustworthy" news only in its news feed by identifying high-quality
outlets.
