Amazon
packages delivering to your doorstep from the sky is not a dream anymore!
On
Monday, The Federal Aviation Administration granted Amazon approval to deliver
packages via drones.
According
to Amazon, this approval is an "important step," and added that their
company is still testing and flying the drones. No information on this service
has been released so far.
The
online shopping giant is working on drone delivery service for years, but it
was slowed down due to the authorities' restrictions. In December 2013, while
giving an interview, Amazon CEO and founder Jeff Bezos said that drones might
fly to customer's homes within five years.
Amazon
introduced fully-electric self-piloting drones that can carry a load of 5
pounds of goods and can deliver products within 30 minutes by dropping them in
a backyard.
Seattle-based
Amazon is the third amongst drone delivery services to win approval from the
FAA. UPS and Google received approval last year.
