North Texans are praying for the speedy recovery of a police officer infected with COVID-19.

Alex Arango is an officer in Everman, south of Fort Worth. He stayed in an ICU for a week and was placed on a ventilator Monday.

Several people gathered to pray with his family at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth.

The Department posted a video on its Facebook Page where Chief Craig Spencer said, “I have full faith in Alex. I know how he is. He is stubborn. He never says no, and he’s not going to give up.

His son said, “It hurts, but I know everyone loves him. So I want to say thanks to everybody for being here for my dad. Thank you.”

Officer Arango has been serving Everman Police Department for approx. 27 years.

His co-workers said that he has worked hard and sacrificed so much for others, and now is the time to give back to him.

His wife and mother are also struggling with COVID-19.
