Divya Khosla Kumar is returning to acting after directing and producing films. While she has appeared in numerous music videos and the short film Bulbul in recent years, her most recent full-fledged Bollywood appearance was in Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo, which got released in 2004. Satyameva Jayate 2, directed by Milap Milan Zaveri, sees Divya return to the big screen. In an interview, Divya discusses her career move and how John Abraham, her co-star, has been supportive.
The response further strengthened her resolve to direct films, which Yaariyan (2014) and Sanam Re (2016) came to be. She owes a debt of gratitude to the audience, who showered me with love and support. She felt it was past time for her to return to the front of the camera in a full-length feature film after her last directing.
Following Sanam Re, she got given a slew of incredible opportunities to helm films with A-list talent. She declined since she didn't want to go against her feelings. But it wasn't easy. Maine sochLiya our film mil Gaye was not the case. She was dissatisfied with the acting work that was coming her way. It took three years of her life for her to find the right job.
However, it took longer since the pandemic threw everything into disarray. As a creative person, she has a lot of untapped potentials, which makes her fidgety because you don't feel fulfilled until that potential gets tapped.
