CeeDee Lamb gained 122 rushing yards in the Cowboys' 27-17 victory over the New Orleans Saints on Thursday night, Tony Pollard had a 58-yard scoring drive, and the Dallas unit supplied crucial tackles and takeaways. The Cowboys picked Saints quarterback Taysom Hill three points in the final 6:32 of the contest, along with a pick-6 by defensive lineman Carlos Watkins on a touchdown pass that gave it 27-10 with 2:52 remaining.

The Saints gave Hill his first start season to end a four-game losing streak. He exhibited moments of brilliance, throwing for 264 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 101, but he also threw four interceptions.

Despite the absence of coach Mike McCarthy and five other members of the coaching staff due to positive COVID-19 tests, Dallas (8-4) prevailed. Michael Gallup caught a 1-yard touchdown throw from Dak Prescott. The acting head coach was Dan Quinn, the defensive coordinator for the Cowboys.

In the middle of the fourth quarter, Marshon Lattimore intercepted Prescott. But the Cowboys canceled out the turnover when Jourdan Lewis struck Hill's arm as he released the ball, and DamontaeKazee intercepted it.

That was the first of three late interceptions for Dallas. The Saints' drive got halted by Travon Diggs' eighth pick of the season. Then came Watkins' interception on the next.

Deonte Harris converted a wild 70-yard touchdown catch for New Orleans (5-7), but the Saints refused to retrieve an extra point, and the Cowboys won overtime.
