Anupam Kher dreams to make ‘Saaransh 2' an action thriller

"Saaransh" is often regarded as one of Kher's most brilliant pieces. The actor, then 28, played a 58-year-old dad who is grieving the sad loss of his young son in the Mahesh Bhatt film. When confronted with a difficult position, he does not lose his values. He believes that if a sequel to the film is created, he will be cast in it.


If there will a sequel to his 1984 first film "Saaransh," veteran actor Anupam Kher would like it to be an action picture with plenty of thrills. Usmein bhi main hi kaam karunga if part two is made. (I would work here.) I'd like to do a sequel as an action film. He was a guy of principle who won people's hearts. It's not action in the sense of knocking someone up, Anupam tells IANS.

I've always thought of myself as a celebrity. It is a symptom of an uneducated individual who cannot tell the difference between a hero, a villain, and a star. A performer is a performer. Of course, there is always a bit of jealously that someone else has played such a pivotal part and that I, too, should be doing something spectacular. Although healthy competition is good for you, Saraansh never made me feel that way. I still believe that no one else could have played that part better than me. I was watching the movie, and now that I think about it, I don't think it's me. "That is the film's charm, he explains.

The 66-year-old actor has worked in Bollywood for 37 years and has played over 500 parts.
