In Tuesday night's loss to the Nets, Luka Doncic led the Mavericks with 28 points, six rebounds, and nine assists, but that didn't stop him from being chastised on TNT. Reggie Miller, the analyst, made several comments about Doncic's weight, fitness, and health.

"Looking at him right now, this is probably the heaviest I've ever seen Luka look," Miller added. "And, while I understand he's had a tough year with the Olympics, look at how he's slogging up and down. He isn't fleeing."

Doncic missed the following three games after sustaining left knee and ankle sprains on Nov. 15. Coach Jason Kidd says Doncic is still feeling the consequences, as he got forced to sit out Saturday's game against Memphis due to ankle soreness.

Before Tuesday's game, the Mavericks labeled Doncic as questionable on the injury report, citing left ankle pain and a left thumb sprain designation.

Miller acknowledged Doncic's previous injury history as well as the physical toll he took while guiding Slovenia to a historic fourth-place finish at the Tokyo Olympics this summer. But he refused to use either as an excuse.

"We've done a number of these Mavs games, and when you're around the team, what you hear is he gets worn out; he's fatigued," said announcer Kevin Harlan. He appears to be a little heavier in my eyes."

Doncic responded to the experts' comments after the game, which aren't the first time they've questioned his shape in his NBA career.
