This is what Lyricist Swanand Kirkire hs to say on winning National award for acting, his songs and more

Swanand Kirkire is one of the renowned lyricists who has written legendary songs like O Ri Chiraiya and Bavra Mann. He is not only a great lyricist but he has tried his hands on acting as well and received National Award for his supporting role in a popular Marathi film Chumbak. While giving an interview,  Swanand talked about his National School of Drama (NSD) days, winning National awards and more things.
 
About his National Award:
He said that his life has changed after receiving the award. He has started wearing good clothes. He has started dreaming of achieving new heights now and can feel his capacity to do more considerable work.

Writing songs or acting
Acting and writing go vice-versa for his. When he is acting, his writing skills get boosted up and vice-versa. These days, he is doing more films so he is missing his writing part.
 

About his National School of Drama days
During NSD Days, Nawazuddin Siddiqui was his batchmate and one of the brightest actors in the school. Nawaz's career is a perfect example of the fact that there is justice in this world. If you have the talent, you will definitely get recognized.

On writing songs
He has worked with so many filmmakers who like to include his kind of songs in their films still he wishes to work with Imtiaz Ali.
