Texas: Freezing Cold result in closure of Garland High School, other North Texas schools open early today

North Texans have been warned for the Freezing Cold weather today. Only one school that is Garland High School canceled classes for the day while Other ISD schools decided to open their entrance early so that their students wouldn’t have to stand outside in the freezing cold weather.
In Crowley Independent School District, elementary schools and the Crowley Learning Center opened doors early at around 6:30 a.m., Middle schools and high schools opened at 7 a.m.
The school district has sent a note to the parents alerting them to contact their child’s school counselor in the case; they need any type of winter protection.
Fort Worth Schools kept the indoor temperature warm before the usual timings so as to keep their students warm.

According to Fort Worth ISD, custodians were present on campuses early to check if all the heaters were working properly before their students reach the school.
Only one school Garland High School was closed today and the management reported that they had some issue with the gas that may impact the heating system of the school so Atmos Energy was called and they are currently working to fix the issue.
All other Garland schools are open today.
