On Monday, a 17-year-old Kemond Smith has been arrested for the fatal shooting of 16-year old Marquel Ellis, Jr, an Allen football player at a house party. Smith lives in Forney and was arrested and charged with the murder of Marquel Ellis.’

According to reports from officers, Smith is being investigated into the shooting incident and is in the Plano City Jail for now.

The parents of the Marquel said that he was an active football player with lots of dreams to purse but his sudden loss put an end to his promising future at a residence in Plano on Saturday night.

His mother Jocelyn Maduagwu said that gun violence should be controlled and killing of teenagers like her son is not acceptable. His parents are still not able to believe that their lovely son ended up at a house party with friends.

Marquel attended the party with his older sister at The Peachtree Lane house for a short-term vacation rental. In the beginning, everyone was enjoying but all of a sudden some uninvited guests showed up and when they were turned around, they decided to shoot up the house.

Further reports from Officer David Tilley confirm that bullet shots were random but killed Ellis, Jr.

Smith is a Forney ISD student and has been taken into arrest after interrogating teenagers at the party and investigating into the case going door-to-door.

Now, the family members want the person who killed their son to be arrested and charged by the justice system. Ellis Sr said that they fired to hit someone that means their intent was to kill someone. The family believes in judiciary and expects that they are going to get the justice for the same.
