  • By
This morning, Arlington police officers are investigating into the case to find who left a newborn boy in a container near a dumpster.

The baby boy was found in a container just before 8:15 a.m., next to a dumpster at the Monterra Pointe Apartments in the 2100 block of Tan Oak Ln. According to reports from the officer, a woman went out to dumpster to take out the trash when she saw the newborn boy in the container.

Arlington Police Department Lt. Christopher Cook said that when the woman opened the container, the child was in distress. So she took no seconds to call 911. Paramedics used CPR to check the baby and rushed him to the hospital. He is at Medical City Arlington and in stable condition.

Further reports from the officers state that the African American baby is a newborn and believed to be born just a day or two before.

Police officers are investigating the matter and have requested family members or the mother to come forward and help officers get some information about the child.

Texas’ Safe-haven laws state that anyone can legally give their baby to a Hospital employee or emergency medical service or fire station without any penalties in order to avoid such circumstances.

Any person with information in context to this case is requested to call 911 or contact Crime Stoppers at 817-469-TIPS.
