Today, Bollywood’s all-time blockbuster Sholay successfully completed 44 years of its release. The renowned director of this film, Ramesh Sippy is happy that this movie is still loved by people of all ages.
 

The director tweeted in his post that he feels good to know that his film 'Sholay' that starred legendary actors Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra is receiving love and appreciation even after 44 years of its release.
 
Sholay hit the screen on August 15, 1975. The film was about two criminal friends, Veeru and Jai (played by Dharmendra and Amitabh Bachchan),  hired by a retired police officer (played by Sanjeev Kumar) to grab a deadly dacoit Gabbar Singh (played by Amjad Khan).
 
The film had legendary star cast including Hema Malini and Jaya Bachchan and music given by RD Burman. This film is considered as one of the greatest films that Bollywood Industry has ever made. In fact, the film was marked #1 in the British Film Institute's 2002 poll of Top 10 Indian Films.
