This is what Akshay Kumar has to say on Mission Mangal. 2.0 had more budget than India's real Mars Mission

Akshay Kumar is one of the most loved actors of the tinsel town who has done more than 150 films in his career span of more than two decades. But the actor says it is “Mission Mangal” film that he is the proudest of all. He accepted this fact during the trailer launch joined by his film co-star Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menen, and Sharman Joshi.

“Mission Mangal” essays the journey of India’s commendable achievements in space with the Mars Orbiter Mission. Under the direction of Jagan Shakti ‘Mission Mangal’ will be the first-ever film on an interplanetary mission.
According to the reports from close sources, Akshay mentioned at the trailer launch that his team and he didn’t have much knowledge about Mars Orbiter Mission before they started doing this film. But over a period in time, they came to know a lot, and it is because of the director only.
Mangalyaan costs Rs 450 crore but NASA spent more than Rs 6000 crore for American Maven orbiter. His film 2.0 had a budget of 500 crore which is still more than that. That’s the reason he feels proud to be a part of such a film.
In the film, Akshay will play the character of the director of this mission Rakesh Dhawan, who leads the team. He firmly believes that his film is about women and it will always be." Mission Mangal will lock horns with John Abraham's Batla House and Prabhas's Saaho on Independence day.
