Dallas: Daughter of ex-Dallas councilwoman Carolyn Davis dies from critical injuries

Former Dallas city councilwoman and now her daughter declared dead due to deadly head-on crash Southeast Oak Cliff about 7:45 p.m. Monday on East Ledbetter Drive near Lancaster Road.
According to Dallas Police officers, 27-year old Melissa Lashan Davis-Nunn was declared dead on Tuesday. She was sitting with her mother, Carolyn Davis when an aggravated drunk driver crashed into their car on Monday night and killed both of them.

Davis-Nunn’s mother died on the spot and she was rushed to the nearby hospital, but her critical injuries were too severe that she couldn’t survive.
36-year-old Jonathan Moore was drunk and driving and has been charged with two charges of intoxication manslaughter. As per his arrest affidavit, Moore was intoxicated at the time of the crash. He collided head-on into Davis' car. Officers arrested Moore who told officers that he had taken Xanax and stated that he wasn’t drinking any alcohol or illegal drugs.

Joyce Wesley saw the crash and extended her helping hand to help. She went to the scene when Davis-Nunn was laying on her mother. She kept on saying that she needs to wake up. She even told Davis to pray. She informed her that the ambulance is on its way! Officers asked her to hang in there.
Moore has been charged with driving with a suspended license. Soon he was released from the hospital, officers, locked him in the Dallas County Jail. Earlier this year, Davis pleaded guilty of taking bribes from a real estate developer. She was also expected to be sentenced on Sept. 20 but now her case will be dismissed. No information on Funeral arrangements have been given so far.
