This is what Shahid Kapoor has to say about his Bollywood journey

Shahid Kapoor talked at length about his Bollywood journey and said that he did flawed characters when so many mainstream actors were afraid of taking such roles on-screen. The actor marked his Bollywood debut with Ishq Vishk in 2003 and then became popular for his roles in ‘Kaminey’,’ Haider’, ‘Udta Punjab’ and, and now he will be seen in ‘Kabir Singh’, an official Hindi remake of Telugu hit Arjun Reddy.

He said that he did flawed characters when nobody else in the Industry had the guts to do. He gave credit of his flawless performance to his dad Pankaj Kapur.
After winning the hearts of his fans through love stories, Shahid's career turned around when Vishal Bhardwaj cast him in Kaminey for a double role. His critically-praised role was much-loved by his fans. Soon he was seen in Bhardwaj's directorial Haider then in Udta Punjab, he was seen as a drug addict and rapper Tommy Singh and now he will be seen in ‘Kabir Singh’, playing the role of a doctor who self-destroys himself after his love interest marries someone else.
Shahid was last seen in ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ with Shraddha Kapoor. The actor went on saying that hits and misses are a part of life because competition in the film Industry has increased. Meanwhile, on the work front, Kabir Singh directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga will have Kiara Advani in the female lead and the film is expected to go on floor on June 21.
