Mumbai artist creates a mural of Irrfan Khan at Waroda Road

Bandra is called the Queen of the Suburbs and the place has its special way to pay tribute to Bollywood stars. Most of the walls of the little bylanes and street corners are filled with murals of actors like Dev Anand, Madhubala, Amrish Puri aka Mogambo, Amitabh Bachchan, huge mural of Anarkali with her love at Chapel Road.  If you walk down the leafy Pereira Road, you will see horizontally-stretched out murals of Amitabh Bachchan and Rajesh Khanna.
 

Now the legendary star Irrfan Kahn who left a void in the Industry on April 29 in Mumbai has joined the stars. One of Mumbai artist has created a mural to him at Waroda Road. This artwork is very close to Saajan Fernandes' home. Saajan is the character of the widower who lives in Bandra. Irrfan played this character in Ritesh Batra's film, The Lunchbox.
 
Rashid Jatu, an architect, who was passed by this lane took a picture of the mural and shared it on the social media and wrote, "The versatility that Irrfan gave to his acting, from playing a Paan Singh Tomar  to an actor in 'Sunday', has become part of history now. He also became a known name in international cinema. The depth of his talent remains immeasurable. Irrfan just can't be redone."

Another resident who lives nearby added to this post, "This mural has managed to capture Irrfan's intensity so well. He was an actor that the world will always remember."
