Dallas ISD to honor graduates with Reunion Tower light show

Dallas people are requested to step outside their homes today in the night to honor graduating high school seniors.

The Dallas ISD citywide Ovation will happen at 7 p.m. and last for 15 minutes.

Everyone is encouraged to cheer, make noise, and share photos and videos on the social media platform and use  #DallasISDOvation.

Superintendent Dr. Michael Hinajosa said, “This class was born right after 9/11 and, of course, they’ve had a tough year this year. Just like we cheered on our first responders, our senior class deserves an ovation from everybody in town,”.

At 8 p.m., Reunion Tower in Downtown Dallas will begin a light show to congratulate the 2020 class.

Dallas ISD may not hold in-person graduation ceremony because of safety concerns.

Commencement ceremonies for all high schools of the district will be streamed on Facebook, the district’s website and Spectrum TV channels 98, 1300 and 1301.
