Dallas: COVID-19 death count rises to 7 in Dallas County, 56 new positive cases confirmed

  • By
Dallas County has reported a new case of death due to coronavirus for the fourth day in a row. There are new 56 cases of positive coronavirus.

Now the county has a total of 7 deaths and 303 confirmed positive COVID-19 cases, the highest in the state of Texas.

The 7th person who died was a woman in her 90s and a Dallas resident. Though she had no high-risk chronic health conditions, she became critically ill and was hospitalized amid the coronavirus.
The new total number of cases does not include test reports that have been done at two testing sites since Saturday.

Both drive-thru sites ran out of test kits so they shut down and failed to provide tests.

The federal government is planning to provide Dallas about 5,000 tests a week. These tests include all of North Texas.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins expects more sites to open for the test and believe that just the two sites aren’t enough for testing. As more and more results come back, the number of cases are likely to rise.
