Air India celebrates International Women's Day

Air India celebrates International Women’s Day in a special way. To celebrate this day, the National Carrier, Air India operated an all-women flight from the Kolkata to Dimapur and then back to Kolkata route today. All women management including cockpit, cabin crew and other staff to celebrate this day with utmost zest and energy.
 

According to the latest news received from the close sources, Air India flight AI709 was driven by Akanksha Verma and Satovisa Banerjee, the captains in the cockpit and the cabin crew including D Bhutia, MG Mohanraj, T Ghosh and Yatili Kath.
 
This flight was given the signal to fly off by the General Manager of Air India, Navneet Sidhu in the presence of the senior officials. This event was planned by the Air India Eastern Region to celebrate the International Women's Day with Women.

Further to this, Air India plans to host cultural as well as creative events to honor the day.
 

Last time, in the year 1985, Air India operated the first all-women cabin crew flight from the same junction, Kolkata to Silchar. This was the first all-women flight across the world.
