Texas: Freezing weather could not stop Argyle police officers from taking a polar plunge for charity

Freezing weather could not stop Argyle police officers in the Denton County community from taking a polar plunge for charity.

Yesterday, several police officers from the Argyle Police Department took a polar plunge for charity.

Chief Emmitt Jackson stated in a video, “This whole thing started because of a Super Bowl bet. Some of us one. Some of us lost. And then the idea was thrown out there,”

For every police officer who took the polar plunge into the icy pool, there was some donation done to the Children’s Advocacy Center of Denton County.

Initially, only a few officers dared to jump but then a local barbecue restaurant offered a donation of $500 if 10 officers would take part just before the snow began falling in Denton County.

So this polar plunge was taken by all officers together. Local medics were kept on standby in case of any discrepancies.

The chief said before jumping that he doesn’t believe in being smart or sane but officers have to be brave.
