Athens ISD school bus collided with a train killing a student and injuring a little girl

Athens ISD School is making headlines today. The middle school bus collided with a train and killed a student and injured a little girl in East Texas.
Athens ISD school bus accidently collided with a Union Pacific train near railroad crossing yesterday after 4 p.m.
Only Two students were on the bus and a bus driver when the bus hit the train. A 13-year-old boy was killed on the spot and a 9-year-old little girl from elementary school is critically injured in the accident. She was immediately rushed to Children's Medical Center in Dallas.

When the bus collided with the train, the bus driver was thrown outside and is in hospital.
According to Buddy Hill, Athens ISD Police Chief, the bus driver is safe now. No further details about his condition have been released so far. The train engineer wasn’t hurt seriously.
This crash took place at the railroad crossing where no crossing arms were present. School district is doing its best to help students, their parents and school staff.
